Subject: Impressive but not too much of a mystery to me
During the workday, I decided to watch a YouTube video that caught my eye with a picture of a huge human skeleton with wings ..... Yes, I know this is a fake picture but I had to investigate. However, the video was interesting because it was about 15 weird discoveries of all time. Of course there was the Antikythera mechanism, something about the dynasty of an SE Asian family called Travancore, and then this book-- the scary manuscript. After it was over, I briefly started the "VM" rabbit hole.
When I found this page with real digital illustrations I flipped through each page as if reading it and couldn't help but remember that the book was familiar to me. Handwriting, drawing, shape of letters ... then hit me.
This book is not fake, it is not Chinese and it is not Islamic. This is what we call the "lost" notebook or the journal of a young Leonardo da Vinci. Before you fire me, listen to me ... We know Leonardo started very early in his life (early adolescence).
I went to look for a sample of Leonardo's handwriting just to see for myself if "VM" resembles Leonardo and "VM" could be a shorthand written on the back that he is famous for and I came to this post:
Take a look at it and read what Mrs. Sherwood has to say. I believe he is doing something and it is worth exploring further.
